AN UNUSUAL CHOCOLATE BOX TO DELIGHT A VALENTINE
‘ Croglin have exceeded upon the design brief set, capitalised on our brand and brand identity and
delivered a superb promotional product ’
Background
Croglin has a long-standing relationship with a luxury watch manufacturer and has helped design and manufacture many watch boxes and bespoke point of purchase displays over recent years.
Project details
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, we were challenged with a design brief to create a gifting giveaway that could be used by the client’s sales team as 14 February approached. The product needed to have a real Wow factor - something a little different – as well as a price point that was justifiable.
Driven by Croglin’s design process, we came up with the idea of a wooden chocolate box in a very distinctive form that combined two timbers and incorporated a simple drop-fit lid.
The materials were sourced locally and were then machined and processed before being left to stabilise. The parts were all manufactured in-house at the Croglin workshop. Solid timbers were machined on our CNC equipment and laser etched for inlay work. Inlays were cut on the laser and layered up before being hand finished and oiled with a food-safe grade oil.
Combining the accuracy of Croglin CNC and laser machinery enabled finite control of part tolerances to ensure perfect assembly of the individual parts and also allowed for the elaborate design to be batch manufactured successfully.
The initial sample was well received by the clients’ marketing and sales team and we’re told that the recipients loved the unusual boxes.
